Fusion plasmas

TOKAMAK Within the H2020 Program EUROfusion we investigate and/or develop:

  • Edge Physics of Fusion Plasmas at the medium sized tokamak ASDEX-Upgrade
  • Plasma diagnostics methods based on the injection of fast neutral Li - beams
  • Plasma-wall-interaction processes using a highly-sensitive quartz crystal microbalance technique. Read more

ECR Plasma In addition we construct and build our own ion sources to produce beams of highly charged ions for our collision experiments:

  • ECR ion source development: An all-permananet magnet 14.5 GHz Electron Cyclotron Resonance (ECR) ion sources (SOPHIE) has been built and is used for production of highly charged ion beams.
